Rectum?!?! It Killed 'Em!

From Gizmodo:
Well, stories don't get much worse than this. A 14-year-old boy in China was killed when his chair exploded, sending chunks of metal into his rectum. The bleeding this caused killed him.

The alleged explosion came from the gas cylinder that was in the base of the chair, the part that allowed the user to adjust the seat up and down. The canister gets compressed when you sit on it, but can it actually create enough energy to make the seat cushion explode like that and kill a man? I doubt it, but this is what people are reporting.

I wonder if it was made in China.

A cut above...er, below.

From WLKY:
Philip Seaton went to have a circumcision last October. Seaton said when he woke up from the procedure, he realized his penis had been amputated.

The lawsuit states that Patterson received consent to perform a circumcision and only a circumcision, and that Seaton did not consent to his penis being removed.

Kevin George, the plaintiff's attorney, said Patterson amputated the organ after finding cancer, but he only had consent to remove the foreskin.

"Sometimes you have an emergency and you have to do this, but he could very easily closed him up and said, 'Here are your options. You have cancer,' and the family would have said, 'We want a second opinion. This is a big deal,'" George said.

From Al Dente:
Krispy Kreme Bacon Cheeseburgers

THE DEVIL. Either that, or it's from a Google cafeteria in New York. Apparently they serve Krispy Kreme bacon cheeseburgers, a.k.a Luther Burgers.

Anyone up for a road trip to Decatur, GA for a hamdog?

Where did I leave my wife? *bump* Oh, there she is.

A Titusville woman was in critical condition this morning after being run over by her husband at about 11 p.m. in a parking lot on Merritt Island, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said.

Florida Highway Patrol said Richard Zubowicz, 45, of Titusville accidentally ran over his wife, Becky, in the Publix parking lot at 1850 N. Courteney Parkway.

Officers said Zubowicz and his wife were driving north on Courtenay in their 2001 Pontiac Aztek when they pulled into the parking lot at the Publix. A trooper said the couple had been drinking and argued about which one would drive. Zubowicz told his wife she was too drunk to drive, officers said.

Troopers said that during the argument both parties were outside the vehicle and Zubowicz pushed his wife to the ground. He then got into his vehicle and circled the parking lot. When Zubowicz returned to the area where his wife had been, he accidentally ran over her as she lay in the parking lot.

Please, don't drink and drive. Ever. Seriously. Call a cab. Get a (sober) friend.

Bad day to go car shopping.

A midair collision between two single-engine planes over suburban Los Angeles left at least five people dead, including one killed by the falling wreckage, police and federal officials reported.

The collision occurred about 3:35 p.m. Sunday (6:35 p.m. ET) in Corona, California, about 40 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Allen Kenitzer said.

The pilot of each aircraft was killed, along with one passenger in each plane and another person inside a car dealership below, National Transportation Safety Board investigator Wayne Pollack said.

The engine and part of the cockpit of the Cessna 150 fell through the roof of a Chevrolet dealership killing one person inside the building, he said.

Well, statistically speaking, flying is still the safest way to travel. Unfortunately, instances are very binary in nature. Either everyone dies or everyone lives.
